I saw this charming Oxford shop on Remodelista. Objects of Use and as I am in the process of making projects out of Vintage blanketing for my next book Scrapbag Sewing, imediately fell in love with the Welsh Tapestry Blankets folded on these shelves. I wish I lived closer to Oxford as I love a great store front.

This is what she's been working on for Valentines Day. I think they’re so cute. She had posted a pdf of the artwork on her site, which means all you have to do is find the animals...love it! Advent is a time when we prepare ourselves for Christmas, and with the first Sunday in Advent past, I thought it would be nice to add a few seasonal decorations to the house before we turn it into a Christmas grotto the week before Christmas. I found these lovely decorations on Martha Stewart, and as I have lots of pine cones in the shed and an Aga to dry oranges, I think I will have a go at making these beautiful decorations.

Started in 1992 in Pennsylvania USA, Anthropologie now have stores in the UK, a website and a mail order catalogue. If you appreciate innovation, artfulness and good design, you will absolutely love the clothes, shoes and housewares they are offering. It was difficult for me to pick the clothes to post here, as I love so many of the beautiful things they are offering!

Jan Constantine has create a stunning Christmas Collections of cushions and tree hangings that are so beautiful it would be difficult to put them away when Christmas is over. The hand-embroidered stitching is done on wool fabric giving the finished designs an heirloom quality. I shall definitely be putting one of the pretty tree hanging decorations on my Christmas present list this year....Father Christmas please note!

These stunning dresses are from an exclusive range for Peacock's by designer Pearl Lowe. Pearl has taken inspiration from rock and pop legends to create a decadent range of vintage inspired dresses from the 40's and 70's. Great deal at the moment - free p&p over £40! As both of the above dresses retail at just £20 each, perhaps I should buy them both!

This month there are two magazines which are head-and-shoulders above the rest for content and design. Country Living, as usual, is top of the pack, but I have enjoyed the varied content of Homes & Antiques magazine, which has thrown off its stuffy exterior and packed its pages with great projects and interesting features...well done to both editorial teams, you help to make Christmas special for us readers.

I have fallen in love with this beautiful pottery, which is produced by husband and wife team, Philip and Heather Walton. Eden Pottery is on the Ards Peninsula in Northern Ireland. They use an amazing colour palette, and their designs are so pretty I want to own them all. I will definitely be adding one or two things to my Christmas present list this year!

I was hoping, when I joined the PTA at my children's school, I wouldn't have anything to do. I was pushed into it by one of the ladies leaving to go back to college, on the understanding that as I had a full time job, I was there only to make up the numbers. Suddenly, in the midst of the manic stitching, photography and page layout for my next book, I find myself thinking of things that I can make for the school Christmas fete! I imagined it would be easy to turn out Christmassy things, gifts, hanging decorations, but I find that my research has left me oohing and aahing and with little to show at the next committee meeting. These really lovely advent calenders are featured on the Country Living Magazine site- a bit big to make in large quantities, but I just might make one for my children and keep looking for those quick, easy cheap projects that I can turn out in bulk!
